REMINDER:  WARM UP AREA ETIQUETTE

While the warm up area is also a place to cool down and relax when not competing, the primary purpose of the warm up area is provide riders a
place to “ride down” and “tune up” their horses before entering the cutting pen.

We have several members who are new to the Club and to the sport of cutting and thought a reminder regarding warm up area protocol was in
order:

•        If loping your horse stay to the outside of the loping pen circle. If walking or trotting, stay to the inside of the circle.

•        If you want to practice your stops or turns, do so off to the side of the warm up area out of the way of the main flow of those loping their
horses.

•        If you are loping and want to stop, check behind you to ensure riders have enough time and space to maneuver around you before applying
your “brakes”, otherwise, ride to the side of the warm up pen and stop.

•        Young children who are too young or too small to properly control their horses are not permitted to ride in the warm up area.

•        Riders should avoid riding more than two abreast while in the warm up pen.
Hello Everyone,

Last call my fellow Cutters, time to “Get Er Done”. I know there’s still some jockeying to be done to settle
the year end standings. Whether, you need to ride one more time to make your points eligible or just
improving upon your existing scores and standings. Good Luck to everyone.

Thanks of coarse, to everyone involved with show # 7, starting with the “Fox Creek Ranch” and 24/7
Livestock Co. Florien, Pat, Wyatt, Kent, Ryan and Lacy, you guys were a pleasure to work with, I’m looking
forward to show #8. We’re getting pretty spoiled by that great 4-H  food, It’s been a treat, Thanks! To the rest
of my fellow board members and any other volunteers, Many Thanks. The shows couldn’t and wouldn’t
happen without you.

If you haven’t yet, please fill out the survey questionnaire , which is either available at our show trailer or
online. The results will be available soon for our viewing.

Our generous sponsors deserve a huge cheer as well. Another way to give back and have a direct,
positive effect on our club. Couldn’t do it without you either, Thanks!  p.s. There’s many different ways or
levels of sponsorship. If you’re interested, check out our website or talk to any board member.

Lastly, to all the G.C.I. members, with your support, another successful show season is almost
complete. In these crazy economic times, your trip to the cutting pen, in whatever form, deserves an
additional at-a-boy, Thanks!

Think about upcoming elections and your interest in becoming a future board member. Worker bees
welcome and moved to the head of the list! Helping make the next show season better than the last,
happens when members step up, in whatever way they choose, and help steer the ship. It takes many
hands, trust me on that one!

With that all said, I’m looking forward to seeing everyone out at Show #8. Every now and again, cross
your fingers and ask for nice weather. Ask Suzy how Mother Nature can put a twist on a cutting. If you made
it to “Cutting on the Coast”, this past weekend, you’d understand what a difference a day will make. Don’t
leave home without your umbrella, jacket and sunscreen. That’s it for now; See you on June 12th at Fox
Creek Ranch.
