Show Rules:
1) Horse/Rider must show in a given class
a minimum of four shows, or 50%, of classes during the show season in order
to qualify for the individual class year end award.
2) For Non Pro classes, the Non Pro
rider must own the horse.
3) ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to show
at a Gabilan Cutter’s Inc. event, both the owner and
the rider of a horse must be members; membership fees are due at first show
entered of a given show season.
4) 150 Novice/Non Pro: Two hand reining
allowed. Horse cannot have been shown at
NCHA or PCCHA shows. No trainers
allowed. Horse must be qualified by three
Board Members before entry into class.
Horse must qualify each show season.
5) All Non Pro riders must show proof
of ownership of horse by presenting a copy of registration papers to the club
secretary by second show entered in order to qualify for points in Non Pro
classes. Horses must be owned by rider,
spouse, child (29 years or younger), or sibling (21 years or younger).
6) Only one horse may be shown by a Non
Pro in each Non Pro class at each show.
However, more than one horse may be shown by a Non Pro in any novice horse
class (10,000 Novice, 3,000 Novice, 10,000 Novice/NP and 200 Limit Novice/Novice/NP)
In the case of the 10,000 Novice/NP and 200 Limit Novice/Novice/NP. The rider must declare which horse is entered
for year end point awards prior to showing at each show.
7) All horses and riders’ winnings will
be verified through the NCHA.
8) Class Champion horses may be shown
again in the same class. The only classes where the rider graduates and cannot
show in that class again after winning the year end award are the 150 Novice/Non
Pro, the 250 Limited Non Pro and the 200 Limit Novice/Novice/Non Pro.
9) Proof of ownership (“Proof”) is
required for all horses entered in all
classes at GCI shows. Proof is required by the second show in which said
horse is shown. Registration papers for registered horses (in the event of a
recent purchase, a copy of the Bill of Sale and Transfer Request will be
accepted for one show, with a copy of the registration papers still required by
the second show). For unregistered horses, a Bill of Sale or an Affidavit is
acceptable proof of ownership.
If no Proof is
received by the second show in which said horse shown, no future points will be
awarded to said horse. Upon receipt of Proof as
described above, points earned in shows entered after
receipt of Proof will be applied and will include any points earned in the
first show in
which horse was entered.
10) To qualify for Division year end
awards, the horse (Open Division) or rider (Non-Pro or Limited Divisions) must
show in the Division related classes a minimum of four shows, or 50%.
Class Rules
1.) Open: Anyone may ride as many horses as
desired. Non Pro must own horse. Points
go to the horse.
2). 10,000 Novice and 3,000 Novice: Conforms
to NCHA rules. Horse
not to have won over $10,000 or $3,000 respectively. Points to the horse.
3). Non Pro: Rider must own horse. Points
go to the rider.
4). 10,000 Novice/Non Pro: Conforms to NCHA rules. Horse not to have won over $10,000. Non Pro must own the
horse. Points go to the rider.
5). 20,000 Non Pro: Conforms to NCHA rules.
The rider must not to have won over $20,000. Points go to the rider.
6). 2,000 Limited Non Pro: Rider not to
have won over $2,000. Points go to the
rider.
7). 500 Limited Non Pro: Rider not to have
won over $500. Points go to the rider.
8). 250 Limited Non Pro: Rider not to have
won over $250. Points go to the rider.
9). 2,000 Limit Any
Horse/ Any Rider: Rider not to have won over $2,000. Any member’s horse may
be shown regardless of horse’s earnings. Class champions do not graduate until
rider has won $2,000 NCHA or PCCHA dollars.
10). 200 Limit Novice/Novice/Non Pro: Both
horse and rider not to have won over $200.
Points go to the rider. Rider
must own horse.
11). 150 Novice/Non Pro: Horse cannot have
been shown NCHA or PCCHA. You must
qualify in order to show in this class.
12). Youth: Rider must be 17 or under (rider
has not reached their 18th birthday by the first show of a given
season). May show any
horse as long as the owner is a current member of the club.
Terms:
1). Trainer: Any person who shows, trains,
or assists in training a cutting horse for remuneration, directly or
indirectly. 2). Non-Pro: A person
who does not show, train or assist in training a cutting horse for remuneration,
directly or indirectly.
Futurity/Derby Work Guidelines
1)
Horses four years old and younger.
2)
Owner/Rider must be GCI member.
3)
Futurity/Derby Works limited to a total of 10 during
single day shows with less than 150 total works with no more than two works
following a given class. Futurity/Derby
Works may be limited or unavailable during single day shows with total works
between 150 & 170. Futurity/Derby
Works will be unavailable during single day shows with greater than 170 total
works.
4)
NCHA rule 35b applicable.
5)
Equipment used during Futurity/Derby Works shall
comply with NCHA rule 16.
6)
Horses participating in Futurity/Derby Works may not
be shown in a class during that same show.
